About Rusty
High energy. Comes from a line of competitive hunters, so he runs hot. Short daily walks or a quick game of fetch help him regulate his energy around the house.
Eager disposition. Urgency to comply. Very curious: always wants to jump in and collaborate. Attentive: When he's outside, he'll sit under a window and look in at you, peering in and keeping tabs on the happenings indoors.
Easy trainability. Stays glued by our side when we’re working. He’s the first dog Justin trained, and Justin said Rusty is better at obeying than he is at training. "He makes me right all the time." During training, he was always on the verge or whining because he was so driven to obey and please.
Color/patterning: Rusty sports a white base coat with liver spots and ticking, and tan points. His sire was liver roan and his dam was solid liver with tan points.
Body composition: Within breed standard measurements. Has that nice, boxy-looking head and a shorter snout (some lines have unpleasant pointy noses—Rusty doesn’t). Thick composition and coiled, muscular frame. Ideal length, nose to tail (some lines have longer bodies, resembling dachshunds—Rusty doesn’t).
